Bed of Roses
By Tiffany Yannetta, September 30th, 2010
The D&G Spring/Summer 2011 show was the garden party of dreams; imagine gingham and overalls by day, and flowing chiffon by night. The runway was strewn with roses and peonies, and the models took to the catwalks in every floral print imaginable. The show began with ensembles meant for working amidst the hydrangeas—like canvas pants, midriff gingham tops and one-pieces with adorning head scarves—and slowly built up to cocktail length dresses and floor-length billowing gowns.
And the accessories were far from a pail and shovel. Two of our favorites were the teal and tan whicker-esque platforms, with a flower tacked to the ankle strap, and an accordion style, floral printed handbag. We might not have the greenest of thumbs, but we wouldn’t mind stopping by the party to smell the roses.
