Burberry Streams Collection Worldwide
By Mackenzie Gavel, February 22nd, 2011
The presentation of Burberry’s Prorsum Womenswear Autumn Winter 2011 collection, which took place yesterday on February 21st at 4 pm, was streamed to its widest audience yet, live from a new venue in London’s Royal Park of Kensington Gardens.
Over 1,000 guests attended and the show was streamed live from Boston to Beijing, creating “buy from the runway” in-store virtual trunk show events that spanned four continents.
As the first for any brand, London’s famous Piccadilly Circus, streamed the show live onto its 32-meter digital screen, which is viewed by around 1.2 million people every week.
And, as another first in the industry (as if Piccadilly Circus wasn’t enough), Burberry’s WEBSITE is allowing viewers to download music tracks from the show through iTunes technology.
Viewers worldwide are being given the opportunity to purchase pieces from the collection immediately after the show for one week, so get shopping, CITYists! The collection will be released globally to consumers in seven weeks.
