By Kayi Tsang, April 13th, 2012
Nike Sportswear is constantly creating in new innovative designs for its running shoes and casual sneakers. This summer, Nike has reunited with Liberty of London, a department store from London known for its signature Liberty art fabrics, to create a line of shoes that any CITYist would want to flaunt when working out at the gym or running a marathon.
The Lagos Laurel print, a contemporary twist on Liberty’s traditional psychedelic prints, will be featured in summer 2012 Nike Sportswear x Liberty collection in the primary colors of Imperial Purple, Sport Red, and University Gold.
The first batch of the collection released on April 2nd includes three of Nike’s signature styles: FREE 5.0, Cortez, and Air Max One. The FREE 5.0 is featured in all three shades, while Cortez comes in Sport Red and the Air Max One in Imperial Purple.
Meanwhile, CITYist also has a sneak peek into the rest of the Nike x Liberty summer 2012 to be released in May. The remainder of the collection will include three basketball styles: the Blazer, Hyperclave and Dunk Sky High. One style to look out for is the Dunk Sky High, which will feature a hidden wedge heel inside the shoe creating the perfect balance between sportswear and a fashionable statement piece.
