FERRAGAMO FIFTH AVENUE FLAGSHIP RE-OPENING
By veronica viayra, April 13th, 2012
Salvatore Ferragamo celebrated its Fifth Avenue Flagship’s re-opening last night at the redesigned boutique. In addition to the re-opening, the private party also served as a launch for the luxury guidebook, Mr. and Mrs. Smith Hotel Collection: Italy, to benefit The Society of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Family Housing Endowment.

The celebration, themed Summer Holiday, had guests perusing the store’s curated selections from the Spring Summer 2012 collection, enjoying cocktails and adorable hors d’oeuvres, and mingling with one another. Mr. and Mrs. Smith, renowned boutique hotel experts, were there to release their new book, while their elite travel team answered guests’ questions about traveling to Italy. Continuing with the travel theme of the party, Ferragamo presented their Travel Luggage Collection that is set to be released late this summer.

Many celebrities were on hand including Solange Knowles, who played DJ for the night. VIP attendees were dressed in Ferragamo designed by Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti. The VIPs included Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo, James Ferragamo, Hanna Bronfman, Margaret Luce, Nina Garcia Conrad, Garrett Neff, and Fabiola Beracasa.

In support of MemorialSloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Pediatric Family Housing Endowment, photographers were on hand to snap shots of guests who were then asked to Tweet, Facebook, and post them on Flicker. Each photo shared through April 15th equates to a $20 donation to the cause.

The newly vamped interior evokes the brand’s characteristic elegance, refinement, and luxury with walnut wood, white Venetian plaster, and dark oak. The showroom encompasses two levels filled with the complete range of Ferragamo’s collections. The first floor is comprised of the women’s collection with handbags, shoes, accessories, silks, RTW, and Creations. Go up the impressive walnut and stone central staircase, to the second floor dedicated to the men’s collection with apparel, shoes, accessories, silk, and fragrances for men. In addition, the floor is home to an area reserved for custom made suiting.

The flagship store is located at 655 Fifth Avenue at 52nd Street.
