Generated Heat

Have you seen our recent CITYist Fashion Editorial, Power Station? Check it out by clicking here, and read more below about the model, Yulia Terentyeva.

CITY chose model Yulia Terentyeva, a classic beauty with arresting blue eyes for our “Power Station” fashion photo shoot, a story about this season’s penchant for pairing bodysuits with bespoke elements and sensual, daring dresswear stepping forth. Just as the combination of ribbed silk seducing concrete and satin billowing behind steel transistors is as unexpected as it is beautiful in these pages, so is a Donna Karan blazer tossed over a Gotex swimsuit or the jet black Dolce & Gabbana silk slip together with fishnet bodysuit. These are couplings that generate heat without fail.
Photographer Tim Zaragoza took us to the Vinegar Hill industrial district in Brooklyn, where Yulia seemed to radiate actual rays as she shimmied her into a skin-toned sequined Pucci dress and the breeze that blew in from Harlem River thoughtfully tousled her hair.
Yulia is a powerful young woman, whose commanding presence does not disappear when she steps off set, but travels with her as she treads New York sidewalks, blonde tresses swept over one shoulder. The Russian native has recently been featured in editorials for Italian Glamour and VMAN, and was seen on the fashion week runway at Elie Tahari and Ports 1961. She expresses a deep sensibility and ease with the world that far surpasses her 19 years and will surely lure more lenses to capture her poise. — Laura Peach
