For Fall 2010, Jason Salstein’s new handbag line Our Lord & Saviour aims to supply you with your own personal Jesus—a Jesus laid out on a bed of the most supple and exotic reptile skins, that is. Though they’ve already stirred up a bit of controversy (and they haven’t even hit stores yet) it’s still safe to say that God himself couldn’t have crafted a finer bag, or come up with a cleverer concept.

The brands signature style, the “Olympus Teneo” clutch, is adorned with a hand-carved crucifix bearing the brands initials, and comes in a python and crocodile so decadent that they might as well be from Eden. While the bags are part tongue-in-cheek, part testament to the iconic nature of religious imagery, one thing’s for sure—when they pop up at limited retailers this fall, you best say your prayers and hope to snag one.
