RUNWAY REPORT: FW 2012 Imitation

By Erin OKeefe, February 14th, 2012

Never one to have a boring old showing, Tara Subkoff, creative director and designer of Imitation made sure guests were entertained. This go around Imitation teamed up with mens tailoring expert, Doyle Muser Bespoke, to create feminine pieces based on mens suiting. The lingerie brand NaïS created exclusive pieces for the show as well. The collection as a whole turned tradition on it’s edge and had a black and white color palette with pops of cobalt and red and the collection gives one a sense that nothing is taken too seriously. Models bopped to music by Gang Gang Dance DJs while a magician performed tricks. The creators sentiment that their intention is to make women to look sharp instead of just chic, timeless instead of trendy was apparent.
