Mark Cross has a storied history that translates into their new handbag collection debuting exclusively at Barney’s. The overnight case that Grace Kelly packs her clothes into in the Hitchcock classic Rear Window was made by the company. The new collection entitled ‘Collection 1′ shows pieces that are inspired by timeless vintage designs although they are redone with a modern twist.
The purses are constructed out of Italian leathers and a sophisticated color palette with reds, blacks, nudes, and more interesting honey and dusty blue. There is a variety of styles from doctor bags, satchels, and clutches. The most noteworthy piece is the one that is an homage to Kelly.
The ‘Grace Box’ has a classic look inspired by the aforementioned overnight case and comes in a small and large size and two colors: black and nude. It costs $1695 for the smaller version and $1995 for the larger version.
The collection as a whole is priced between $1495 and $2350 and is available at all flagship Barney’s locations and Barneys.com.
