Menswear as Women’s Wear
By Eva Medoff, March 8th, 2010

Androgyny reached denim long ago, primarily with the advent of the skinny jean into punk rockers’ wardrobes. Flash forward 30 odd years or so, and we’ve now got a men’s line (Dior Homme) debuting a women’s denim collection, Petite Taille. As confusing as this might be, we should just thank Annie Hall, put our assumptions aside, and focus on the jeans: four skinny-cut pairs made of Japanese denim in indigo, light blue and black. Some sporting rips or pocket piercings, all of the jeans are engineered specifically for a woman’s body, but with the “Dior Homme spirit.” What exactly does that mean? We’d imagine you have to try a pair on to find out.
