Michael Kors debuted the opening of its Madison Avenue Lifestyle store with an exclusive behind-the-scenes video (which launches today across the brand’s digital platforms: YouTube, Destination Kors, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram) showing Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller, as guest stylist, as well as the store’s staff in their race to perfect the space before its opening.

The video also gives Michael Kors fans across the world an insider view of the opening of the 6,655-square-foot bi-level location. It is the world’s largest Lifestyle store, nearly three times larger than the company’s original New York City Lifestyle store. The video also provides inspiration for shoppers to put together the season’s new looks in unexpected ways.

The store itself emphasizes accessories, with handbags, small leather goods, footwear, eyewear, watches and fragrance prominently highlighted on the first level. MICHAEL Michael Kors ready-to-wear is featured on the lower floor.

The space has a clean, chic aesthetic, and features clear acrylic display tables, white leather benches, polished stainless steel finishes, mirrored surfaces and large-scale framed artwork. A floor-to-ceiling feature wall displays the same logos from Kors’ iconic handbags etched in glass, Calacatta marble, and macassar wood. An 18-foot-high video screen faces the entrance and will screen original-content videos from Michael Kors.

“The opportunity to expand our Madison Avenue lifestyle store to showcase a broader selection of my different collections in a space with such unique architectural qualities is a dream come true,” says Michael Kors. “The location is perfect for both our New York customers and our global customers—Madison Ave is truly my backyard.”
