Mischievous Girls, Breathtaking Fashion
By Mackenzie Gavel, January 15th, 2011
“We arrived at something which I would compare to the Eiffel Tower lighting up every hour on the hour—something of artifice that is just so gorgeous, and glamorous, and beautiful, that you are completely mesmerized by it.” –Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs
And that’s what we all are—mesmerized. The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2011 advertising campaign, photographed by Steven Meisel, features three shimmering models, all emblazoned in an array of bold colors and sparkling textures of clothing. Marc Jacobs drew on his Orient-inspired vision to create a spectacular image of “bad girls” with glossy hair and makeup surrounded by Seventies-influenced décor. A true vision, the campaign will be featured across magazines worldwide in February 2011.
