Rent the Closet

Rent the Runway, the shopping site much beloved by frugal fashionistas, is now closer to you than ever before. During New York Fashion Week, Rent the Runway has set up shoppable closets at four different W hotel locations throughout NYC.
The Rent the Runway Fashion Director, Lucy Sykes, noticed that many of their customers were staying at hotels and having the dresses shipping directly to the hotel. She chose W hotels as a launching pad because the W is young, hip, chic & fun and was the perfect locale for their clientele. Each of the four NYC locations will house different designer dresses; at the downtown locations, the selection will host edgier designers including Opening Ceremony, Yigal Azrouel, and Erin Fetherson, while the uptown locations will have a more traditional sophisticated look with designers such as Versace, Badgley Mischka, Halston Heritage, and Vera Wang.
Throughout Fashion Week you can experience The Closet (regardless if you’re staying at the W or not), rent designer dresses and accessories directly from The Closet, or place an order for the future with the help of a Rent the Runway stylist.
Sykes said that they are thinking of having the Rent the Runway closet installed in other W locations in the future, but you’ll just have to wait & see where they pop up next, and the meantime be satiated by being able to shop the fabulous site online!
