Rock The Vote

By Kimberly Cortes, March 12th, 2012

This year lets make it a year your vote counts. Rock the Vote has teamed up with Promo Jam, Junk Food and Threads for Thought to launch the first ever “Scan to Vote” 100% organic cotton eco-shirts with a QR code. What is this about? Political empowerment for the youth and the spread of important matters to politicians, because we all know united our voice is louder and stronger.

We all want our voices to count, and with our busy social life, when is their time? Well, Scan to Vote has made self expression possible through our most precious technology, our phone. With the QR embedded on each T-shirt, we’ll be able to simply scan it with our smart phones and immediately register to vote. We’ll also be able to view educational and inspiring videos about the election, take a social stand and “like” the Rock the Vote on facebook. While the form will be filled through your smart phone it is still necessary to print out the form and mail them.

The T-shirts will be unveiled for the first time at the Warby Parker Citizen’s Circus on Monday, March 12, 2012 at the French Legation Museum in Austin, TX during SXSW’s crossover between interactive, film and music. This definitely is something every youth would want to be a part of, including myself. The tees will be for sale exclusively nationwide at select premium retailers and on both Junk Food Clothing’s and Threads for Thought’s websites.
