Rodeo Redo: A Fresh Take On Western
By Marisa Steinberg, August 14th, 2012
After a scarring relationship with a graphic tee bedazzled with the words “Rhinestone Cowgirl” in the fourth grade, I have been hesitant to try my hand at the western trend again. There were moments when weathered cowboy boots seemed indispensable to a look or that a glitzy bolo tie would be the perfect outfit punctuation, but fears of total tackiness cut those moments short. After viewing the elegant manifestations of the rodeo trend on the fall 2012 runways, however, I realized that all I needed was a foreign perspective on the matter. Check out a new take on the Americana look from the eyes of our friends overseas, like Isabel Marant and Chloe, and let out that “yee-haw” you’ve been suppressing for years.
