Sequins, Snakeskin and Fur–Oh, My
By Mackenzie Gavel, March 4th, 2011
On February 24th in Milan, Prada unveiled its Fall 2011 Women’s Collection, and, as usual, Miuccia’s collection offered some surprises. The show featured girls dressed head-to-toe in sequins, light pink tones, snakeskin and fur to bring the “trampy” look back into an innocent spotlight.
Drop-waists and straight silhouettes deviated from last year’s collection in which Miuccia Prada focused on the natural coutures of a woman’s body. Provocative python, knee-high boots with spiked heels, oversized fur lapels and noteworthy bags clutched tightly to the models’ chests certainly proved crowd pleasers at this year’s show.
