KeSARI: American women are so captivated by the Indian culture and Indian style, why do you think that is?
Soigné K: As technology becomes more and more advanced and the number of people with access to the internet grows, the world and its many cultures have become more accessible to people. Also, since the market in the U.S. is so heavily saturated with Western designers and clothing, I think that women are really looking to other cultures and countries for fresh new ideas. India, which is known for its handcrafted goods, use of gorgeous color and intricate embellishments is a natural choice for women who want to personalize and brighten their looks.

KeSARI: If you are going to invest in one statement piece of jewelry, what should it be?
Soigné K: Every woman should own one or two amazing, and unique bracelets with some color, like the wooden bangles with stones by Soigné K. These types of bracelets are easy to wear because they can be worn with everything from jeans and a t-shirt to a cocktail dress. They have just enough embellishment to make a simple dress interesting but are not over the top, so they can also be worn with other pieces.

KeSARI: How can a woman who is usually a very conservative dresser incorporate something from your store into her wardrobe?
Soigné K: For women who have a more minimalistic style and tend to dress in neutrals, I recommend either a scarf or a smaller piece of jewelry. We carry many types and colors of scarves from legal shahtoosh’s, which are made from a very rare type of goat hair, to cashmere ones. I would suggest purchasing one in a lighter color for summer, perhaps a soft blue or pink, which looks great with neutral pieces and add just a hint of color. As for jewelry, I find that every woman looks beautiful when she calls attention to her face. A gorgeous pair of small earrings—either a hoop or button style flatters the face and matches everything.

KeSARI: What are your favorite current trends going on in fashion right now?
Soigné K: For Spring Summer 2011 I love that color is popular once again! Everyone looks great in color—it really helps lift your mood and bring out women’s natural beauty. I also love the new midi-length—not everything needs to be short to be sexy. I believe women look most beautiful when dressed in a way that complements their skin, body type and personality. The mid-length dress is a great way to feel comfortable and well dressed this summer.
