STELLA MCCARTNEY ECO-FRIENDLY SUNGLASSES COLLECTION
By veronica viayra, April 25th, 2012
Just in time for fun in the spring sun, Stella McCartney has launched a new eco-friendly collection of sunglasses. The five designs in the collection feature raw materials that come from natural origins, such as castor-oil seeds and citric acid.

50s Style Vintage Frame Sunglasses $225
One of these include injected bio-plastic that is 54% made from castor-oil seeds, a renewable resource. Utilizing the castor oil seeds helps limit the exploitation of petroleum. Another material is a brand new acetate plastic that is 54% made of natural sources. The plastic is a mixture of renewable and biodegradable cellulose and natural plasticizers, a natural substance derived from citric acid.

Round Frame Gradient Sunglasses $250
There are two acetate models and three metal models offering a variety of styles. For example, there is an aviator style, a retro-modern rounded look, an oversized round frame, and a cool square lens design. They are available in a range of neutral tones from grays to berries that evoke the collection’s environmental efforts and Stella McCartney’s signature color palette.
