Tales from the Wardrobe

If clothes were able to speak they would have a million things to say. The off-Broadway play, “Love, Loss and What I Wore,” narrates hilarious and moving life episodes by way of wardrobe. Directed by rom com queen Nora Ephron along with her sister, Delia, the estrogen-fest features a rotating cast every four weeks, allowing new personalities to bring nuances to the long-running show (it just celebrated its 200th performance).

“Love Loss and What I Wore” is the ultimate chick flick—except in the flesh. Based on Ilene Beckerman’s best-selling book of the same name, the cast has featured actresses such as Jane Lynch (“Glee!”), Kristin Chenoweth (also from “Glee!”), Fran Drescher (“The Nanny,” of course) and Natasha Lyonne (we were surprised by that one too) amongst others.

A percentage of the show’s profits (tickets are $75-$100) is donated to “Dress for Success,” a charity that gives job support and helps to dress working-women in need. Go to support the charity, marvel at the eclectic cast (including Brooke Shields and Anna Chlumsky, yes, from “My Girl,” starting April 28th) and reflect on those skeletons in your own closet.
