Los Angeles-based jewelry label TomTom is set to release a collection of futuristic pieces inspired by the world of TRON – a 1982 classic, science fiction film set in a universe of virtual reality. The line will be a collaboration between TomTom and Walt Disney Pictures, as part of a promotional campaign for Disney’s upcoming December 17th release of TRON: Legacy in theaters, the next chapter in the film franchise. The line is one of four collections associated with the film, comprising of Jerome Rousseau shoes, Hayden-Harnett leather goods, and Rotenier silver jewelry. TomTom’s bejeweled interpretation of the TRON universe similarly reflects the film’s avant-garde, space-age aesthetic with mirrored lucite and blue topaz stones framed by angular, plated gunmetal. Undoubtedly, founding designer Elena Coleman’s training in architecture influenced the styling of these modernist, geometric pieces. She says, “The inspiration came from the graphic visual landscape of the film, the bleak black background of the computerized world is given life and movement by glowing blue lines.” With recent fashion trends favoring structure and futurism, Ms. Coleman’s creations could not have come at a better time. And where else will you find jewelry that is simultaneously retro and contemporary?

Disney’s Signature Collection will be available in November and will range in retail prices from $90 to $2,600.  Disney will announce details for its official TRON Pop-Up Shop in Los Angeles the same month.
