Tribal Treasures

We’ve talked about the tribal trend before, and we’ll talk about it again. But now, we’re zeroing in on jewelry—specifically, three different brands that are making us want to move to the Amazon, the Sahara or Guam—or at least don looks inspired by those locations.

Brian Crumley is such a good designer, we’ll mention him twice. Based out off Austin, his brand, CRUMLEY, churns out geometric wooden bangles, chunky chokers and rainbow-colored scarf necklaces that scream summer. The pieces range from $175 to $475, and are available at Kick Pleat in Austin, MAC Modern in San Francisco and Assembly New York.

Cara Croninger has been doing it since ’72—creating one-of-a-kind tribal jewelry, that is. A painter and sculptor, Croninger brings the same artistic sensibility to her colorful glass pieces.

This Diane von Furstenberg beaded necklace is a multi-colored, volumized dream. Available for $325 at DVF New York (646-486-4800).
