By Mackenzie Gavel, December 6th, 2010
Groundbreaking fashion designs that appeal to the inner rocker dwelling inside every man—this is the style that John Varvatos’ envisions, embraces and embodies; this is John Varvatos’ forte. Known for his edgy rock ‘n’ roll style, American designer John Varvatos has just today opened his first pop-up-shop in the Parisian department store, Galeries Lafayette, in France.
The interior of this hybrid boutique incorporates an infusion of exclusive black-and-white Jim Marshall photography, custom built dark wooden floors and antique fixtures, including leather benches and steel tables, to make for a chic and bold appearance.
The two store-front windows of Galeries Lafayette will feature Varvatos’ Fall ad campaign, which boasts an elaborate image of the thirty-nine musicians, including rock icons Franz Ferdinand, Lenny Kravitz, Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, who have supported the designer throughout his ten year journey.
The shop will feature clothing from both lines John Varvatos and John Varvatos USA apparel, a younger sportswear line. With his label extending now to include scents, watches and eyewear, John Varvatos is becoming less a brand and more an icon—a man to emulate for his sensational lifestyle.
This boutique is one pop-up-shop that must be explored. It will remain open to customers until January 8th of this upcoming year.
