What’s Happening This Week
By Eva Medoff, August 16th, 2010

Have You Heard? is our weekly roundup of items we may have previously missed (or would like to remind you of again). So as you plan the week ahead, take a look at our cherry-picked selections of what’s hot in art, music, film and fashion right now.
Monday

Stop by Soho’s Apple Store (Green and Prince) at 6 p.m. for a performance by Brit David Gray, who will be playing songs from his upcoming album, Foundling, as well as some old hits (Babylon, anyone?).

Afterwards, table tennis whizzes (there must be a few of you out there) better make their way to SPiN (23rd and Park) for “The Brawl”–a free-to-play tournament from 6 to 9 p.m. with $300 cash prizes. And yes, this is the venture partially backed by Susan Sarandon.
Tuesday

MGMT play Radio City Music Hall.
Wednesday

Williamsburg home decor spot Obscure Object (20 Broadway) will be offering up big discounts on all sorts of quirky finds to adorn your pad. Stop by between Wednesday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Thursday

Starting Thursday, Soho’s LF (Spring between Wooster and West Broadway) will be conducting its seasonal blow out sale. Trust us: this is worth checking out.
Friday
This Friday is the ultimate Friday of campy movie openings. Jennifer Aniston gets impregnated by a turkey baster, Twilight gets the spoof treatment and Emma Thompson wears the most ridiculous costume/makeup of all time. Our favorite: Piranha 3D. Check out the trailer above.
