McCartney has launched a new eco-friendly sunglasses collection just in time for Earth Day. The five designs feature natural materials such as injected bio-plastic made from castor-oil seeds and a new acetate plastic created from cellulose and natural plasticizers. Not only are these sunglasses great for the environment, but the chic and cool styles in neutral shades will be the perfect addition to any spring outfit.

Levi’s Water<Less is a new collection of denim that reduces the amount of water used in the finishing process by an average of 11 gallons per pair. An average pair of jeans uses around 42 liters of water in the finishing process.

We’ve seen a lot of impressive things coming out of London Fashion Week this year, but perhaps one of the most impressive is the collaboration between yoox.com and The British Fashion Council. On their website, yoox.com has a department called YOOXYGEN, which since 2009 has been a place that features innovative, eco-friendly designers and products. This London Fashion Week, YOOXYGEN has showcased London’s Estethica designers on the site—all the more proof that environmentally sustainable materials and eco-friendly products are sweeping over London.

We mentioned Boxing Kitten’s pattern-crazy bodices and skirts before, but now the brand is coming out with a limited-edition shoe. Designed in collaboration with Osborn, the eco-friendly “Cheeky” shoe (the heel is made from recycled tires) takes the playful tribal patterns of Boxing Kitten and marries them with a summer oxford with open side panels. With only 50 pairs made (and going fast), each shoe is a model in exclusivity, signed by the cobbler that created it.

In honor of the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, New York is going green. More specifically, Union Square will be turned into a plant kingdom today with an entire wall of native New York species erected on its Southern plaza. This herbaceous oasis is the product of Miguel Nelson, the founder of Woolly Pockets—recycled plastic containers that house plants and turn any concrete jungle into a rainforest.
