Half the looks from Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch’s fall/winter collection reminded us of springtime, but we were still excited to see the brilliant man’s florals and pinstripes play out on the runway. Deconstructed dresses may not be oh-so-wearable on the streets, but we did have some favorites such as the first look, a white ensemble of exaggerated peplum. The sophisticated dark evergreen two-parter was a catwalk stunner as were the bright red pantalons. We also loved the mix of blooming patterns in the pantsuit, pictured last.

For its 30th anniversary, Nautica went back to its sporty roots with a Fall ‘13 collection of puffy outwear and a palette of primary colors.

For her fall/winter 2013 ready-to-wear collection, Lela Rose was inspired by the Grimm Brothers’ fairy tales. The runway show featured a mix of casual and formal pieces, including a wool jacket and vest, slim-fitting pants, boxy tops with fur and rhinestone detailing, chic fitted dresses with floral embroidery and silk organza gowns. Lela Rose incorporated a wide array of textures, prints and shapes in both neutral and bold, jewel tone colors making the experience that of a fairy tale. Inspired by the most decadent rooms in the world, the Palace of Versailles’ Hall of Mirrors, Rafael Cennamo designed a collection of thoughtful, elaborate dresses for Fall 2013 – and then dipped them all in shades of gold.

If there is one thing that is often missing from the excess of Fall/Winter Fashion Week, it is practicality. Thankfully, for her New York Fashion Week debut, Heather Lawton brought the perfect mix of fashion and function.

Edun’s fall/winter 2013 ready-to-wear runway show consisted of both womenswear and menswear. Leather, tweed, mixed plaids and oversized shirts and dresses with silver stud and chain detailing gave Edun’s womenswear collection an urban, grunge-chic vibe. Similarly, Edun’s menswear collection had a simple yet modern biker-esque theme. It incorporated oversized shirts, fitted pants and black leather motorcycle jackets. Check out some highlights below!

Looking like a pool of oh-so-chic modern day Mad Men-esq secretaries, the models at the Erin Barr show sat, lounged, posed and played a friendly game of fashion tag. While the playful game kept the presentation moving, the real interest were the graphically-printed, impeccably tailored, feminine clothes.

The inspiration for Carlos Miele’s spring collection came from a visit to the zoo with his son. A “hallucinatory jungle” is the only way to describe the collection that was full of animal prints in vibrant and unexpected colors. Check out some of our favorite pieces.

The spring collection of Christian Siriano was like a day at the ballet. Inspired by a recent performance of American Ballet Theatre’s The Dream, Siriano sent out looks that were elegant and ultra feminine. Every season Michael Kors is the designer that consistently creates a collection that is not only luxurious but sophisticated, sexy and ultimately wearable. This season there were rugby stripes, bold blocks of color, digital prints of clouds and pools, hints of the mod 1960s or “Geometric Glamour” as Michael Kors puts it.

Lisa Perry, who is always inspired by the sixties put a new, fresh and a more modern take to her spring 2012 collection. Inspired by the Ellsworth Kelly and the night sky which Perry would gaze out from via her beach house in North Haven. The designer’s signature A-line silhouettes guaranteed a thoroughly mod mood, as did the lineup’s saturated and ultrabright hues. Check out some of our favorite looks from the collection.

Antonio Azzuolo’s spring collection at Milk Studios was chock full of whites, blacks, greys, blues, as well as colorful prints ranging from bright red to neon variations. Our favorites were the understated white button down with blue bib and the structured plaid suit. Guys and gals strutted down the runway with simple yet sexy low necklines and a fresh, clean look.

Composed of sharp peplum silhouettes submerged in shades of seafoam, Monique Lhuillier Spring RTW 2013 is what we imagine mermaids might wear for a night on the town -and what we want to wear all season long. Dive into the collection after the jump.
