Town and Country

By Eva Medoff, June 3rd, 2010

Samantha Pleet has managed to capture the pulse. Part downtown/LES style, part 50s throwback and part Annie Hall, her rompers, high-waisted shorts and playful bustier tops (always paired with a hat) look the very image of New York summer style. In maroons, cherry reds and feminine florals, the looks are sincere rather than ironic—a refreshing change for her general market. Pleet’s styles are simple and flattering, providing a fresh palette for accessories or other embellishments (though they look alright on their own, too). We put together our favorite looks, that would take you from a sunny day vintaging in the city to a sunny day frolicking in the country.
