Now, I don’t know if I’m the only CITYist who’s noticed, though I highly doubt that, but it’s incredibly warm outside! I mean, seriously. Literally everybody in New York City has shed their winter coats and layers and is walking around with smiles on their faces as we embrace this warm weather. I swear I even saw a girl strutting around in a fluttery dress and flip flops. Well, in a few short weeks it will be warming up for good, and Kajal Ruia of Ruia, the SoHo based luxury shoe boutique, is here to help.

Whether you’re looking for a fun place to try on gorgeous footwear or are on the hunt for a great pair of rare shoes, Ruia is worth a visit. And with complimentary drinks and a television, we have no doubt you’ll have any trouble finding a shopping buddy.

You won’t find me in a mall or at Macy’s on Black Friday. The crowds, the hassle, and the mayhem is not what shopping is all about for me. I almost always stick to boutiques and smaller shops in Soho, so I just might be tempted to check out the new Converse store at 560 Broadway at its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 26.

Realm Boutique opened its doors for a grand opening party at 98 Greene St. in Soho last night. Everyone’s favorite fashion-lover and Gossip Girl star Blake Lively came out to congratulate the store’s owner Randi Jacobson on the new space.

Design collective JNBY, a dozen Chinese women with a well-established business in Asia and Russia, takes on the stateside market today with the opening of its first American retail outpost. A butter-cream yellow storefront on Greene Street, the shop has standard Soho retail elements: brick walls, empty space and garments individually bungee-corded and hung by hooks (though watch for the helicopter-inspired dressing room slated to land in the store next month).
