Beauty in Flight

By Mackenzie Gavel, January 5th, 2011

One flight, two countries, four designers–these were the only ingredients necessary to create brilliant artistry, which is exactly what jewelry pieces from AF148-AF147 embody. The line is cleverly named after a flight that the group took from Paris to Delhi–a flight that sparked the group’s inspiration to playfully use their travels as fuel behind their jewelry creations. French romanticism and subtle dabbles of other countries’ influences effortlessly weave their way through the unique stories of these pieces. Their vision is impeccable, their story is incredible; AF148-AF147 represents an embodiment of innovation and ingenuity rarely seen in such subtle sophistication.

A Whole New World

By Katie Ross, July 26th, 2010

There’s no place we’d rather live than New York, but even we’ll admit it: sometimes we just need an escape. At Panoramic View Resort, a renowned Montauk location for over fifty years, it’s all too easy to find one. As the name suggests, the view from Panoramic View Resort is something that needs to be seen in person to be believed, which is why every guest room has a balcony for guests to enjoy the unreal beauty of the landscape.

Haute Hotel

By Eva Medoff, July 13th, 2010

To some, the work of the grand dame of fashion, Diane von Furstenberg, is so amazing they’d just like to live inside it. Well, living inside her clothes is one matter, but now it’s possible to be totally enveloped in DVF style within the 20 guest rooms and suites she’s designed for London hotel Claridge’s, which will begin unveiling on June 23rd. The designer has been a loyal patron of the art deco space for the past 30 years, and considers her work nothing short of the preservation of old-style, luxurious hotel life.

cape town - dock road

Although the World Cup is taking place all across South Africa, Cape Town is no doubt the most chic and scenic of its locations. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain and bordered by vertical cliff-faces and the crashing ocean, natural beauty abounds. Take a moment away from the natural splendor (and one of the five football matches taking place at Green Point Stadium), however, to check out some of these cultural hotspots.

By Eva Medoff, March 24th, 2010

From John Galliano’s shrouded Russian brides to Grace Coddington’s reinterpretation of Hansel and Gretel, fashion is, and always has been, about fantasy. Moschino is no longer offering fantasy through things you can wear, however. They’re now offering an entire fantasy world you can enter, through their new Milan-based hotel, Maison Moschino.
